The Yukon Avalanche Association, formed in 2010, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting avalanche safety and awareness and facilitating the development of risk management tools for backcountry users. It is our goal to ensure that anyone using avalanche terrain is informed, aware and prepared for the risk. Browse the conditions page to access weather data and information to prepare for your trip, check the Regional Report and forecaster video blog, find the latest training opportunities and more.

The Backcountry Bash and Ball is coming up: March 14 to 16 in White Pass. The year marks the 6th annual event, hosted by the Skagway backcountry community. See the poster for details. The Yukon Avalanche Association will be involved with a transceiver clinic and snow profile demonstration at Fraser on Saturday March 15 between 11am and 3pm. All times are Alaskan. Gather at the Fraser parking area (by Canada Customs). Come on out and meet the Yukon Avalanche field team and the Yukon Avalanche Association and learn more about backcountry avalanche safety. Sharpen your companion search skills and dig into the snowpack. If you haven't already done so, sign up and become a YAA member.
